This memorial and another from Victoria Road (now University Road) Baptist Church (no. 37), were on their way to a metal recycling business, when fortunately, the person charged with the job recalled that he had heard of ARWMP and brought them to us.
The text on the memorial contains a phrase taken from the Gospel of John in the Bible (King James version) chapter 15, verse 13.

The reason for their redundancy, was with the amalgamation of the separate churches of Belvoir Street, Victoria Road and Charles Street, into the splendid Charles Street building, the management decided to also amalgamate the three war memorials.
