Albert was born in 1889 in Leicester to Charles Finney, a boot and shoe pressman, and Elizabeth Cox. He was one of 10 children–

In 1891 census the family lived in Ash St., Leicester. In 1901 census they lived at 3&5 Ash St. and in 1911 census they were at the same address where Albert is listed as a railway goods shed porter.
On 10.5.1913 Albert married Amy Brewin, there is no record of any children.
He was Private 39486 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 16.4.1918 aged 29. He is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial (panel 50 – 51), Zonnebeke, Belgium.
