Albert was born on 6.8.1892 in Leicester and baptised on 22.11.1907 at St. Saviour’s Church. His parents were Albert Sharpe, a shoe finisher, and Ada Maria (nee Smith).

1896 Father, Albert, died aged 37.
1901 census the widowed Ada and family lived at 87 Sherard St. Later in 1901 Ada died.
In 1911 cesus Albert is shown as the adopted son of his paternal aunt Selina and her husband Frederick Rouse, a coach wheeler.
The other young siblings are shown as living with their maternal aunt Thirza and her husband, Alfred Boothby, at St, Saviour’s Building, 77 St. Saviour’s Rd.
Albert became Private 31242 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 30.10.1917. He is on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
