Albert was born in 1898 in Leicester to Frederick Solomon Wills, a boot finisher, and Ellen (nee Ebourn).

In 1901 census the family lived at 24 Rodney Street and by 1911 they had moved to 97 Sherard Road.

Albert became Private 38783 9th Battalion King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He was Killed in Action on 26.4.1918, aged 20, and is on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
