Archibald was born on 7.2.1897 in Leicester and baptised on 20.12.1908 at St Matthew’s Church. His parents were William Wheatley, a boot and shoe clicker, and Elizabeth Caroline (nee Scott).

Archibald became Sergeant 14887 8th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and Died of Wounds on 23.3.1918. He is buried at Ribemont Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
