Arthur Edward

Arthur was born in 1885 in Leicester and baptised on 5.6.1885 at St. Saviour’s Church. His parents were John Thomas Lambert, a railway engine man, and Harriet Elizabeth (nee Freelove).

They had 11 children –

In 1891 census the family lived at 73 Mount Road and in 1901 census they were at the same address and Arthur was a hosiery trimmer.
1905 John Lambert died aged 55.
In 1911 census the family were at 5 Mount Road and Arthur was a picture house attendant.

1912 Arthur married Blanche Emily Robson and they went on to have 3 children –

Ronald S 1919

Arthur enlisted from 6 Mount Road as Private 12292 2nd Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and later became a Sergeant. He Died on 26.10.1919 and is buried at Welford Road Cemetery, Leicester (Ur.1698).
