Dorman Bretna Frith

Dorman was born in Rugby in 1899 and baptised at St. Andrew’s Church, Rugby from 83 South St. His parents were John Dorman Frith (a grocer) and Annie Eliza (nee Parkinson). He was one of 8 children –

In 1911 census they lived at 12 Prospect Hill, Leicester and John is listed as working as a railway goods porter.

Dorman enlisted, from 74 Green Lane Rd., Leicester, as Private 3353 in 1st TR Battalion then became Private 63839 King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, 9th Battalion, D Company.
He Died of Wounds on 23.10.1918 and is buried at Awoingt British Cemetery, France. He is also commemorated at St Barnabas’s Church, Leicester.
