Ernest was rn in 1894 in Leicester to Ernest Lord, a boot factor agent and Annie Udall (nee Clark). They had 3 children-

In 1901 census the family lived at 40 Paton Street, Leicester. When Ernest was 15 he went to work at Parr’s Bank.
In 1911 census they were at the same address and Ernest was a bank clerk.
Ernest became 2nd Lieutenant Tank Corps and was Killed In Action on 21.3.1918, aged 24. He is on the Pozieres Memorial, Somme and also The Martyrs Church, Leicester and Welford Road Cemetery (Co.2731).
His father’s address at the time was 131 Gresham Street.
