Enlisted into the Militia, 1939 as number 10103632. He later served in the Malaya Campaign 1941-1942 with the Regiment’s 1st Bn and was made a prisoner of war. He died of beri- beri and malaria as a prisoner of war in Thailand between the 1-31 July 1943, aged 24. He is commemorated on the Singapore Memorial, Singapore.

Son of Walter Ernest Flewitt, and of Winifred Nellie Flewitt, of Leicester.
