In 1901 census the family lived at 72 Prospect Hill, Leicester.
In 1911 census they lived at 46 Edwyn St. and Frederick is listed as an errand boy at the shoe factory.
Frederick became Private 3797 in 9th Battalion Notts and Derby Regiment. He was attached to 33rd Brigade Light Trench Mortar Battery and Died of Wounds, aged 20, on 13.11.1917. He is buried at Loos British Cemetery, France and his address was given as 8 Green Lane Rd.
When Frederick died his family were living at 27 Edwyn Street. His photograph is in Illustrated Chronicle 23.2.1918 Pg 7.
