Frederick was born on 23.1.1895 in Leicester and was baptised on 22.3.1909 at St. Saviour’s Church. His parents were Thomas Maddock, a boot repairer and Susannah Hanley (nee Veall).

In 1901 census the family lived at 50 Frederick Road, Leicester.
In 1911 they were still at the same address and Frederick was working as a boiler maker.
Frederick became Private 12801 6th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and Died of Wounds, aged 22, on 31.5.1917. He is buried at Welford Road Cemetery (Uol.293.Wm.2.4.) and is also on the St. Stephen’s Church Memorial.
At the time of his death his home address was given as 76 Prospect Hill, Leicester.
