Frederick was born in 1898 in Leicester and baptised at St. Saviours Church on 15.7.1898. His parents were Charles William Wale, a dustman and Eva (nee Harris) who were married at St Saviours.

1901 census the family lived at 57 Elm St. Leicester. 1911 census the were at 48 Parry St. Leicester.
Frederick enlisted on 9.10.1915 but I think he lied about his age as his attestation gives his age as 19. He became Private 21462 9th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. He was Killed In Action on 3.5.1917 and is on the Arras Memorial, Pas De Calais, France.
