William and George were born to Thomas Chetwyn, a shoe maker, and Sarah Ann (nee Powell). There were 9 children in total – William Edwin 1877

In 1881 census the family lived at 51 Carden St., Worcester and in 1891 the family lived at 11 Spinney Hill Rd. where William is listed as a telegraph messenger.
On 8.10.1898 William married Helen Amy Spicer at St. George’s Church and they had 2 children – Evelyn Alice 1902 and Edwin
Arthur 1904.
In 1901 census George was still in the family home at 73 Sherrard Rd. and William lived with his family at 28 Quom Rd., Leicester working as a town postman.
In 1911 census George is still at home at 359 Humberstone Rd. working as a machine printer and William is at 65 Mornington St and a postman.
On 24.5.1915 George married Florence M Grain at St. Peter’s Church.
William became Corporal 371204 218th London Regiment (Post Office Rifles) and was Killed in Action on 30.10.1917. He is on the Tyne Cot Memorial (panel 150 – 151), Zonnebeke, Belgium.
George became Corporal 201255 214th Leicestershire Regiment and Died of Wounds on 28.3.1918. He is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France (grave Xxxiii.2.29a).
They are both commemorated at WeHord Rd. Cemetery, Leicester (Uo1.990).
