George was born in 1896 in Bristol and baptised on 3.11.1897 at St. Philip and St. Jacob in Bristol. His parents were John Crossby Milburn, a boot laster, and Harriet (nee Gabb).

George became Private 243029 18th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and was Killed in Action, aged 21, on 5.12.1917. He is buried at Cambrin Militar Cemeter, France.
