George was born c 1886 in Leicester. He worked as a labourer and enlisted in the army in 1904 aged 18 and became Private 7355 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment.
In 1911 census he was with the 2nd Battalion Leicestershire Regiment in India, aged 25 and single.
He went to France on 20.9.1914 and was Killed In Action on 25.6.1915. He is on the Ypres Memorial (Menin Gate) panel 33.
George’s photograph is in-Leicester Mercury 20.9.1915 pg3 and his address is given as Mr and Mrs Tuffell 129 Mount Road. I don’t know who these people were and I have no information about his birth family.
