Despite serving with the Tigers for 20 years, he does not appear on the Commonwealth War Graves. I believe he died at home after contracting Tuberculosis, in service 3 years previously. Discharged from the army 23rd April 1917, He died 31st May 1917 in Leicester, but as yet no burial has been found.

He was the son of Frederick Hall, a bricklayer, born 17th January 1854 in Whetstone, Leicestershire and his wife Ellen
Jane Hall (nee Smith)married on the 18th November 1873 in
St. Peter’s Church, Whetstone. He joined the Leicestershire
Regiment in 1897 and served in the Boer War – he married
