Horace was born in Leicester in 1899 Henry Todd, a maltsters dreyman, and Alice (nee Gibson). They had 6 children-

1901 census the family lived at 92 Willow Bridge St, Leicester.
1911 census they were at the same address and his father was a van driver.
Horace became Private 48848 2nd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment. He was Killed In Action on 29.9.1918 and is buried at Unicorn Cemetery, Vend’Huite, France. At the time of his death his family lived at 4 Vulcan Rd.
