Educated at Alderman Newton School in Leicester, Charles Kendall was commissioned 2Lt in the Royal Artillery on 2.7.1943, and transferred to The Leicestershire Regiment on 8.8.1944. Served in Western European Campaign, 1944-45.

While attached to The Glasgow Highlanders he was Killed in Action on 18.4.1945, aged 26 in Germany.

Buried in Hanover War Cemetery, Germany.
