Samuel Harry & Joseph Alfred Lillyman
Samuel and Joseph were born to Harry Lillyman, an agricultural labourer, and Mary (nee Dyke).
They had 6 children-

Martha Alice 1890
Sarah Emma 1892
Samuel Harry 1894
Joseph Alfred 1895
all born Chorlton, Lanes. both born in Shropshire.
1897 Mother, Mary, died in Shrops. Aged 34.
The family was split up after Mary’s death and there is no further record of Harry.
Martha Alice was adopted to a family in Ash St., Leicester, Sarah went to live with an aunt and uncle in Farringdon St. Leicester and by 1911 Samuel and Joseph (now known as Frederick) were boarding at 4 Rowan St., Leicester and working in the shoe factory.
Samuel became Private 10436 7th Battalion North Staffordshire (Prince of Wales’s ) Regiment and died of wounds, aged 20, on 4.11.1915. He is on the Helles Memorial (part xiii), Turkey although he was buried at sea probably being transported due to his wounds.
Joseph became Private 11261 2nd Battalion King’s Own Scottish Borders and Died of Wounds, aged 19, on 9.5.1915. He is buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France (viii.c.12).
Samuel and Joseph were the nephews of Mrs. Pitt of 61 Farringdon Street.
