Stanley Grimsley

Stanley was born in 1894 in Leicester to John James Grimsley, a gas office clrk, and Fanny (nee Sturgess).

In 1901 census the family lived at 13 Chatsworth St., Leicester and in 1911 census they were at 22 Melbourne St. and Stanley was an accounts clerk.

Stanley became Lance Corporal 3506 116th South Staffordshire Regiment. He was Killed in Action on 1.7.1916, aged 22, and is buried at Gommecourt Wood New Cemetery, Fonquevillers, France.
