In 1901 census the family lived at Benford Street, Leicester.
In 1911 census Thomas senior is listed as single and he and his children are lodging with his married sister, Elizabeth Childs, at 159 Humberstone Road. Thomas junior worked at the iron foundry.
In January 1916 Thomas married Florence James.
Thomas became Private 17550, 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. He was Killed in Action on 23.1.1916 (within 3 weeks of being married) and he is buried at White House Cemetery, St. Jean-Les Ypres (I.D.6).
His widow, Florence, married William J Robinson in 1917.
