William was born in 1895 in Leicester and baptised on 27.2.1895 at St. Matthew’s Church. His parents were William Morley, a shoe finisher, and Annie (nee Jacob).

In 1901 census the family lived at 6 Court C St. Mark’s St.
In 1911 census they lived at 63 Metcalf St. and William, aged 15, was a stationers erand boy.
William became Private 2030 114th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. He was Killed in Action, aged 18, on 13.10.1915 and is on the Loos Memorial, France.
