William Thomas Edward Watkins
William was born in 1895 in Leicester and baptised on 6.9.1895 at St. Saviour’s Church. His parents were Thomas William Watkins, a train driver, and Mary Elizabeth (nee Hamson).

In 1901 census the family lived at 29 Matlock Street and in 1911 they were at 9 Wood Hill, Mere Road where William, aged 15, was listed as an apprentice brass finisher and engraver at Taylor, Taylor and Hobson.
He became Private 12784 8th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment and Died on 17.10.1918. He is buried at Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille, France (viii C 16).
