Kenneth Bert Lockton was the youngest sone of Mr And Mrs B Lockton of 16 Sketchley Hill Cottages, Burbage. He Father was a Hosiery Dyer and his Mother was a retail shopkeeper. Kenneth attended Hinckley Grammar School from 1933 to 1938.

He joined the Royal Air Force as an Aircraftsman and was invalided out in November 1944. The Hinckley Grammar School magazine reported that: “Unfortunately, he did not make a full recovery and after a long illness he passed away in March 1945. He was of a quiet and reliable disposition; he never complained and bore his illness bravely. Our sympathy is extended to his parents and family” He was buried in Hinckley Cemetery.
